Ridgegourd/Ghosalein Thel piyao

Ingredients

300grams ridgegourd/ ghosalein

1 medium onion

2 green chillies slit

1/4tsp turmeric powder

Salt to taste

1tbsp oil

2-3 tbsp grated coconut (optional)

Preparation

1) Scrape and remove the skin of the ridgegourd. Slice the gourd into thin rounds and halve the rounds and keep aside.

2) Slice the onion and slit the green chillies.

3) Grate coconut if using.

Method

1) In a pan put the ridgegourd, onion, green chillies, turmeric powder, salt and mix well. Drizzle the oil on top of it. 

2) Add quarter cup of water to it. Cover the pan and cook. When almost done add the grated coconut and mix it. Boil for 2-3 minutes.
