Ivygourd Pepper Sukka/ Tendli Miriyapito
INGREDIENTS
250grams Ivygourd / Tendli/ Gherkins
1 medium onion
1 medium tomato
1 green chilly
1/4tsp turmeric powder
1/4tsp cumin powder
1/2tsp pepper powder
Salt to taste
A few curry leaves
1-2 tsp oil
PREPARATION
- Wash the gherkins, remove ends and gently crush each gherkin with a clean stone or a pestle. Otherwise, you can also slit each gherkin halfway.
- Slice the onion, tomato and green chilly.
METHOD
- In a pan pour oil, when it is hot put the curry leaves, then add the gherkins, onion, tomato and green chilly.
- Add turmeric powder, cumin powder, pepper powder and salt. Mix well.
- Add enough water to cover the gherkins, cover the pan with a lid and cook until done.
